Analysis of the influence of hot rolled plate steel treatment using temper and quench-temper method on vickers hardness number enhancement

This paper wants to know the effect of bending radius on distribution hardness, grain and microstructure surface area tensile stress compressive after bending, quenching tempering. Material testing helps determine analyze material quality. The research was conducted Hot Rolled Plate Steel with a 50 mm, 55 60 65 mm 70 measurement distance 1 2 3 highest value obtained at mm. After getting quench-temper treatment holding time 30 minutes, 498 HV Hardness test performed using austenite temperature 900 °С, results finer grains in compression r=2.173 µm r=2.34 µm. observation aims undergoing heat process °С minutes water cooling media. specimens before showed that structure ferrite more abundant than perlite, but quench-tempering there perlite due presence austenite. transformation Ar3 line causes hardness change shape martensite into steel while thickness carburizing layer increases increase carbonization quenched specimen, resulting formation residual causing coating become hard.
